Trillium Charter School Fall 2007 Class Outline
At Retallack School of Arms LLC, we teach heavily in Boxing, Wrestling, Knife Fighting, and Longsword. We feel that it is necessary that all beginner students (Recruits) develop a strong skill set in all of these areas to be an effective Western Martial Artist. In our beginning Western Martial Arts classes the following basics are introduced and practiced.
All Recruits must pass the Longsword Scholar Test to continue to the Scholar level of training in any other weapon or combat styles. The Scholar test includes Theory, Technique and application tests both oral and physical. To include supervised combat with a Free Scholar or Provost in each discipline (Unarmed Combat, drei Ringen , Dagger and
Longsword).
Trillium Tourney Team Training Days
We will begin training on Tuesdays and Thursdays as of 10/04!
Training will be after school from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday and 12:00pm to 1:30pm on Fridays in the multipurpose room.
To be eligible for the team you must be in Western Martial Arts class and have a completed Participation Waiver.
All students that are on the team need to purchase a Three Weapons Fencing mask and a 48" Wooden Waster made of oak or hickory. I will be able to sell swords for $30.00, fencing masks run about $40. I am trying to get us a deal with a local supplier for a better price on the fencing masks.
Students will also need a fencing jacket. These are expensive. If we have a few parents that sew and are willing to donate some time to the team, we can modify large jeans jackets or even large sweat shirts with a moving blanket for padding. This option is much cheaper.
Parents that are willing to help with a sewing effort or have ideas for better options please contact me at:
